Required tools/libraries

To install and use all components of the Scalasca tool set, with available C/C++/Fortran compilers and MPI libraries, the following software is needed:

GNU make
GNU binutils (only libbfd & libiberty, and only for some platforms)
Qt4 (≥4.3, for graphical user interface)

Optional extensions

The following third-party software components are also recommended:

SIONlib scalable file I/O library
PDToolkit source instrumenter
